A dining table is a must in all homes. It is not only a utilitarian object, but also a means to attract and unite friends and family members. So much love, dreams, and projects can be shared around a dining table! No wonder thousands are bought every day around the world.
Most people know about the “regular-shaped” dining table: oblong, square, round or oval. No personality. No story. No life. When I started making dining tables, I made “straight” tables, but one day I came across single slab LIVE EDGE tables. Each was unique, rare and personalized. It was love at first sight.
Clients buy live edge tables as they buy art
Just as some people prefer figurative art to abstract art, or Impressionist paintings to cubist paintings, so my clients have their own preferences when it comes to choosing the key element of their dining rooms or kitchens.
In my quest to make unique tables for my clients, I realised that they want the slab of wood (hence, the whole piece of furniture) to reflect their tastes and personalities. Some want live edge with clean lines, others prefer curves. Still others want cracks and even holes in the slabs. And when it comes to choosing the material and shapes of the legs, the possibilities, again, are endless. Why is it so? Simply because human nature is so varied! Each personality calls for a different table style.
Getting to know the client
A dining table is a focal point in a home. It can also be a piece of art that displays the personality of its owners. I sell my products mostly online, but I really enjoy it when clients come to my workshop and choose a slab according to their tastes. We then discuss their likes and dislikes.
Since every single piece of wood is unique and every client is different, every LIVE EDGE dining table is absolutely original and personal.
